Rail/Air Links in Poland

In 2006, the first train arrived at Krakow's Balice Airport. The Krakow airport thus became the first of Poland's airports to be linked to the national rail network. There are discussions about rail links to further airports, but for the next few years at the very least, getting from your plane to a train involves a transfer. Warsaw (Warszawa)

Location:

The airport is located in the southwest part of Warsaw, about 10 km. from the center.

Rail connections:

To continue your travel by rail, the most convenient station is Warszawa Centralna, the main station, located on Jerozulymskie Ave. in downtown Warsaw. From Warszawa Centralna, long distance trains leave to all points in Poland. The adjacent Warszawa Srodmiescie station is the departure point for local trains to Warsaw's outer suburbs and nearby towns.
 
Local transport:

BUS: Warsaw city bus line #175 runs between the airport (bus stop on lower [arrivals] level) and Warszawa Centralna station (bus stop "Dworzec Centralny" on Jerozolimskie Ave.). Krakow (Kraków)

The airport is located to the west of Krakow, about 11 km. from the center.
Rail connections:

Krakow's airport is currently the only airport in Poland with a train station! Take the free shuttle bus from terminal to the new train station nearby (Krakow Balice). The trip to the main railway station (Krakow Glowny) takes about 15 minutes. There are about 70 trains daily. You can pay the fare to the conductor (6.00PLN). Timetable

    Poznan (Poznan)

    The airport is located in the southwest part of Warsaw, about 7 km. from the center.

    To continue your travel by rail, the most convenient station is Gdansk Glowny, the main station. You can also use Gdansk Wrzeszcz, a smaller suburban station at which most trains also stop. From Gdansk Glowny, long distance trains leave to all points in Poland.

        Szczecin (Szczecin)

        The airport is located to the northeast of Szczecin near the town of Goleniow, about 35 km. from the center.
        Rail connections:

        To continue your travel by rail, the nearest station is in Goleniow. From there, you can travel easily in the direction of Kolobrzeg, Koszalin, Slupsk and Gdynia/Gdansk. Depending on train schedules and your time of arrival, you might find a good connection to Szczecin, and onward to other points in Poland.

        Alternatively, you might want to make your way to the the main Szczecin station, Szczecin Glowny. From there, long distance trains leave to all points in Poland.

          To reach Goleniow train station:

          BUS: You can take a mini-bus going in the direction of Nowogard. Fare is approximately 3.00PLN

          TAXI: A taxi ride for the 7 km. from the airport to Goleniow station should cost about 25.00PLN.

          To reach Sczcecin:

          Lodz (Lodz)

          The airport is located to the southwest part of Lodz, about 5 km. from the center.
          Rail connections:

          There are several train stations in Lodz, so to continue your travel by rail, the most convenient station depends on your destination.

          For travel to Warsaw, the departure point is Lodz Fabryczna station. For travel to other points in Poland, Lodz Kaliska is the best station. Check the online timetable for the suggested departure station for your desired destination.

          Bydgoszcz (Bydgoszcz)

          The airport is located 3 km. south of the Bydgoszcz city center.

          To continue your travel by rail, the most convenient station is the main Bydgoszcz station, Bydgoszcz Glowny. From there, long distance trains leave to all points in Poland.
          Local transport:

          BUS: There is not a direct bus connection from Bydgoszcz Airport to the main train station, but the trip can be accomplished with one change. From the front of the airport terminal, take bus #80 to the bus stop "Rondo Jagiellonow" (this is the 5th bus stop after leaving the airport). After getting off the bus, use the underground passage to go to the bus stop for busses #54 (destination-Piaski).           Zielona Gora (Zielona Góra)

          The airport is located 34 km. northeast of Zielona Gora.

          To continue your travel by rail, the most convenient station is in the the town of Babimost, 3 km. from the airport. From there you will find trains to Zielona Gora and Poznan, where you can connect to trains to other points in Poland.
